Theresa L. Covello

Theresa L. Covello, DNP, RN, began her career at Salem Community College in 2019 and serves as the Chief Nursing Officer for the Practical Nursing Program and the Associate Degree Nursing Program. Dr. Covello has successfully led the ADN program through Dr. Covello the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) process in 2022. In 2024. 

Dr. Covello has years of service as a Registered Nurse. Her primary focus throughout the years was caring for the smallest of patients in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. She has experience in pediatric nursing, medical surgical nursing, and homecare. After earning her MSN in Nursing Education, Dr. Covello transitioned to nursing education. She has taught at the community college level and for a diploma in nursing education setting.  In addition, she has taught online for BSN and MSN nursing programs. Dr. Covello obtained her Doctor in Nursing Practice March of 2015. Dr. Covello has traveled throughout the United States serving as a Peer Evaluator for Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) since 2017 and as an ACEN Evaluator Review Panel member since 2023. Dr. Covello enjoys her free time traveling and spending time with her four children, grandchildren and can be seen daily walking her aussiedoodle.
